HAVERHILL, MA (USA) Intelligent Manufacturing Software, Inc. announced today that INCAT Limited is an authorized distributor of the IMSpost™ family of NC post processing products for users of the CATIA CADCAM solutions portfolio.

INCAT is a value-added reseller, systems integrator for CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM products to the Automotive, Aerospace, Mechanical engineering and Consumer goods industries.

AVL, the high-tech company based in Graz, Austria, has reached an agreement (subject to anti-trust regulatory approval) to acquire the majority interest in Pierburg Instruments GmbH based in Neuss, Germany (with facilities in Fürth and Neuss), and to acquire Pierburg Instruments Inc.

DaimlerChrysler AG has engaged AVL to build a seven-story testing and test bed facility for the Mercedes-Benz Technology-Center (MTC) at Untertürkheim in Germany, containing a total of 60 test modules. The value of the contract for the "Motorenhaus III" project is in the region of 100 million Euros.

Doelstelling

The automotive industry has seen a significant shift over recent years towards the increasing use of modules. These are relatively complex sub-assemblies designed to simplify assembly operations in the vehicle manufacturing plant and generally delivered on a just-in-time or even just-in-sequence basis.

The requirements placed upon commercial vehicles, industrial engines and agricultural machinery in the areas of emissions and noise reduction as well as powertrain development will take centre stage at the AVL International Powertrain Conference on April 3rd and 4th 2003 in Graz, Austria.
